Cuba needs our help.
Early reports on the impact of Hurricane Dennis
indicate severe damage: 16 dead, nearly 150,000 homes and buildings
damaged or destroyed, over 1.5 billion dollars in material destruction
and climbing. For many Cubans, who struggle economically even in
good times, the need for assistance is real.
What help can the United States provide
to help our neighbors in Cuba recover?
We call upon President Bush to set aside the restrictions
he imposed last year and allow, even on a temporary basis, Cuban-American
families to provide unlimited cash assistance to their families
and friends in Cuba. They should also be permitted to travel to
the island freely to help with post-hurricane recovery and relief.

Let President Bush know
that you support allowing Cuban-Americans to provide assistance
and support for Cuba. Take a few moments to send a message to the
White House to ask the President to be a good neighbor and a Good
Samaritan.
Because the messages are slightly different, we
created a specific letter for Cuban-Americans and a letter for everyone
else. If you are Cuban-American and would like to send a letter
to President Bush, click
here. If you are not Cuban-American and would like to send a
letter, click
here.
Sincerely,
The Cuba Central team
